Did you ever notice that the kids table at adult dinner parties is always alive with conversation? To be honest, I think they out do the adults. I think this is why, as parents, we are always looking over to see what is going on. We sure aren’t worried about spilling food or making a mess…that is what the kids table is for.
They don’t talk politics, war or social inequities. They don’t worry about today, tomorrow or even 5 minutes ago. They live in the present.
They laugh at each other
They dare each other to eat something new
They race to finish dessert and attempt to steal a bite from their neighbor
