Even in light of the crazy stuff airlines are doing to try to control costs (typically at the expense of a good flight experience), I have noticed the employees are doing exceptionally well. I commend them. I mean… it has to be tough to go to work each day knowing your company is fighting for its very existence. Some of the problems are the airlines own fault and some are external.
It would be so easy to simply give up and not care.
When I checked in for a flight in Bozeman, the Delta agent was awesome.
He actually went out of his way, proactively, to see if he could find a better seat for me due to my height. I am only 6 feet tall. Thanks. I was smiling before I even got on the plane. This same employee checked the boarding passes as we loaded the plane. Guess what? He addressed each person by name. “Thank you for flying Delta Mr. Hull.”
Authentic and natural. Not forced.
My “Corporate Version of Thomas the Tank Engine” post was about a service mechanic on an American Airlines flight who solved a simple seat failure problem so a flight of 250+ people, including myself, could take off.
I have no idea what is going on inside the airline companies. I do know one thing. The airlines better keep thanking their employees. Without great employees like the guy in Bozeman, the flying experience would have hit rock bottom by now.
Anyone else seeing great airline employees or are the airlines doomed?
