Llama Llama Red Pajama

Llama Llama Red Pajama is my favorite kid book right now.  Anna Dewdney bring an entire new character to life.  Who would have thought a llama mama and her child would make such a delightful story about bedtime and separation anxiety.  Her book gets my Papa Llama approval!  Thanks Anna.

Guy Kawasaki on The Art of Innovation

For bloggers on and familiar with Alltop, below is a great video recording of Guy Kawaski (one of the guys behind the scenes for Alltop and many other start-ups) speaking on innovation.  Possibly his favorite topic.
Even if you are not a technology marketing professional, Guy delivers a great speech on innovation.  At minimum, scroll through the index of [...]

1st Day of School

Like many dad bloggers, I experienced my first back-to-school drop off this week.
My daughter just started kindergarten today.  The entire family dropped her off.  Boy was she proud and confident.  I am not sure who was glowing more- me, my wife or Ellie.  Even our middle son seemed ecstatic to see his sister off.

Can You Justify College Tuition?

I am convinced the rules for how to educate my kids for university studies will change by the time they are ready to fly off to college.
Just like high gas prices, there is a breaking point for families.  I see higher education (as an overall industry) testing the pain point for parents and students.
Anyone aware of [...]

Rhythm of Life

Life seems to fall into a pattern on a regular basis.  This AM during my cycling commute into work, I saw the children lining up on the side of the streets waiting for the yellow school bus.  As if by magic, not seen or heard from for months, I spy the familiar school bus pulling [...]

Fast Forward

We all recognize the universal symbol for fast forward.  Maybe it should be the universal symbol for parenthood as well?  It seems like the minute you have kids the fast forward button is permanently ON!  Yikes.  No wonder I am panting.

Jump Rope – It’s Kinda a Big Deal

I have always looked for employees who were passionate about something, anything.  If they are passionate about something, they will be passionate about work.
I had a Montana State University business student intern about a year ago.  I started my team meetings by rotating who presented the “fun activity” for the week.  It could be on [...]

“But Daddy” from Writer Dad

I love running across bloggers that really know how to communicate the essence of kids, parenting and the fun, frustrating and otherwise crazy events that happen in daddyhood.

Presidential Platform of a 5-Year-Old ->Jump Roping

My wife is a writer and she does such an awesome job of capturing the spirit of our five-year-old daughter.

Enjoying the Mundane

Grocery shopping, getting gas, and dropping off the dry cleaning.  These sorts of errands are about as mundane as weekly tasks come.  Unless you have kids under 5.  My kids started exaggerating everything in a funny repetitive sort of way, and it makes for some fun conversations.
“Dad, can I have the coldest of cold water”
“Dad, [...]
