I have always looked for employees who were passionate about something, anything. If they are passionate about something, they will be passionate about work.
I had a Montana State University business student intern about a year ago. I started my team meetings by rotating who presented the “fun activity” for the week. It could be on any topic. The more “non work” related it was, the better. It was her turn.
She decided to cover her passion- Jump Roping. I didn’t even know it was a sport. Boy was I wrong. Check out these guys. Believe me, if they put the same skill, attention and dedication to perfection into this routine as they do their studies and career, they will be successful.
