The Other End of the Spectrum

With three kids six and under, a majority of my posts revolve around things kids do at this age.  They provide an endless supply of fun and heartfelt material.
Yesterday, I experienced the other end of the spectrum.  I presented to junior and senior year business students at Montana State University on the reasons why businesses [...]

An Uncanny Resemblance

Landon handed me a portrait of a person last night.  I asked, “Who is it Landon?”
“You! Daddy.  Can’t You Tell?”

Focustrate?

Focustrate.  Is that a word?  Well apparently my son thinks so.
My wife just posted on my son’s need to put everything on backwards (and create new words)

When to Stick Your Nose In?

Last week the youth soccer season wrapped up in Bozeman.  The 6 week program was Ellie and Landon’s first organized team sport.
My wife and I debated how early we should get them involved in sports because 4 and 6 still seemed young to us.  However, we decided to go for it.  No scores.  No goalies [...]

Science Fair

It is so much fun watching our oldest child experience grade school.  Last night was the science fair.  The cafeteria was jam packed with science projects from kids in kindergarden (help of parents) all the way to fifth graders.
I loved seeing the ten versions of volcanoes and all the various rock displays.
Kimmelin helped my daughter [...]

The New (Old) Form of Transportation

And I don’t mean bicycles or the original form of human transportation (our own two feet).
After our kids last soccer game of the season, we went to Baskin-Robbins for ice cream.  As we enjoyed the spoils of a great game, two girls on a horse come around the corner.
Now I have blogged in the past [...]

Timelessness of a Farm

Kids just LOVE farms.  The fields, hay, barns, animals, tractors…its like a slice of heaven baked into a couple of acres.
My wife and I took our three little ones to a Rocky Creek Farm in Bozeman for pumpkins yesterday.  What a blast!

Automoblox

Great companies deserve air time.
This holiday season will probably be extremely tight for retailers (and I think I am being optimistic with my outlook).  So…why not look for gifts that will last.  Quality not quantity.  Something new and unique.
Automoblox is your stop.  My wife and I are repeat customers of Automoblox and their toys really [...]

Dad-o-Matic

Here is a shout out to the guys coordinating the new dadomatic.com blog.
It is great to see 17 dads coming together to share their experiences on being great fathers.
Great work.  Keep it up!
BTW – You may want to click on a few of their ads.  It sounds like the ad revenue is going to their [...]

Feeling Disconnected…From Your Favorite Company?

Do you buy from the same companies you bought from five years ago?  Chances are very slim that you do.  Some of it may be your change in lifestyles (kids versus no kids).  But I suspect some companies just aren’t keeping up with the times.
Do you check your Facebook, blog and email well before you [...]
