Did you know there is a defined Chinese character for Dad? If anyone knows how to explain the elements of the symbol, please share the link or post a brief explanation for us all. I would love to know.
The bottom part has started looking like a cradle to me now. BTW, some fathers here in Pakistan (including myself) are called Baba by their kids too. Written as بابا in Urdu.

Nice
It looks like a grinning dad’s face
No idea why it looks like that though – intrigued.

The top part is the chinese symbol for man and the bottom part is phonetic: “ba”. Dad is “ba ba” hence two symbols together.

I was able to talk with a co-worker from Taiwan. She explained the symbol in exactly the same way as Discopiglet.
Thanks!
